About
Providing the spark for Christians who think in contempoary ways, display Christlike character, and with courage to do anything for the God of ‘go go go’ not ‘no no no!’
Ignition Journal was created on behalf of the Pines Training Centre which is part of a larger vision established by the Southern Cross Institute.
The Five Star Vision of the Southern Cross Institute is to advance the Kingdom of God in Australia and Beyond:
Revival Today’s generation faces the future with little or no knowledge of Christian values. We live in a country that is in desperate need of spiritual awakening. Past revivals began when Christians joined together in periods of persevering prayer. The late J. Edwin Orr said, ‘The church will only see revival if there is repentance and public, united prayer’. The Southern Cross team believes it is time our nation takes the call to revival seriously.
Training The Southern Cross Institute is committed to train people with passion. Our vision is to establish a leadership training centre to equip future leaders for the ‘real world’ of ministry.
People need more than a head knowledge, they need a heart filled with passion and the ‘how’ of practical ministry skills.
Church planters, evangelists, counsellors, youth workers, musicians etc, can discover their God given destiny through the Pines Training Centre.
Evangelism The Southern Cross team is committed to the vision of reaching unchurches men, women and children with the Good News of Christ. The role of the evangelist is to equip he church in culturally relevantmethods of evangelism and to assist churches in their outreach and activities.
Church Planting Professor C. Peter Wagner said, ‘The most effective way to evangelise a community is to plant new churches on new ground and old ground’. At Southern Cross, we have a heart to see new churches planted all over the world.
We aim to be a resource centre for church planting bodies by providing culturally relevant training and information for planting new churches.
Media Television reaches over 95% of the nation. This medium shapes the values and standards of young Australians. If we ever need a change in moral direction of our nation…. it is now!
The vision of the Southern Cross Media is to ‘raise up the standard’ of Australian television and promote family values.
The Australian Christian Channel is a Southern Cross Institute initiative and is currently on air 24 hours a day through the Optus Cable network and is an integral part of the Southern Cross vision.
Our Aim We aim to extend the Kingdom of God across Australia and the world by training leaders and team workers:
think in contemporary ways exhibit Godly character demonstrate practical ministry skills
for the purpose of establishing culturally relevant ministries and churches.
